Ses Païsses Talayotic settlement (Artà)

by Poblat talaiòtic de Ses Païsses · Artà · 4.2 · 752 Google

Walled prehistoric enclosure with a monumental gateway and central talayot, shaded by holm oaks and a short walk from central Artà.

About

Ses Païsses keeps much of its cyclopean wall, a gateway of huge blocks and the central talayot surrounded by rooms. The route, under holm oaks, takes half an hour or a bit more at a relaxed pace. A local guide gives hours Monday to Saturday (mornings in winter, until 17:00 from May to October), closed Sundays and holidays, and a token fee with children free up to age 10. Parking available. Pairs well with a climb to Artà's Sant Salvador sanctuary.
