The Sunday market has been a public market since 1898 and has been held on Plaça Nova since 1973. The railway arrived in 1875, and the town lived off almonds, aniseed liqueur and vines: in 1933 it declared over 320,000 litres of wine, and today it belongs to the Binissalem designation of origin.
